Inspired by the catchiest tune ever, we have created a place to gather and celebrate the spirit of Jaja Ding Dong. Whether you’re looking to feel the power of a Volcano Man or the secret recipe for becoming a Lion of Love, get ready to enjoy your favourite Fire Saga-inspired cocktail as you overlook a breathtaking view of the Húsavík Bay.
Located right next to Hótel Húsavík, at the entrance to the Eurovision Exhibition in Húsavík, the Jaja Ding Dong bar offers signature cocktails inspired by the Eurovision movie, beer from the tap as well as specialties from local producers and tasty Icelandic foods while showcasing props from the Netflix movie Eurovision: The Story of Fire Saga.. We’re especially proud of our signature dish – Kjötsúpa: the Traditional Icelandic Lamb Soup.

It all started with the Eurovision movie
In 2019, the production of "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" came to Húsavík. The film portrays Húsavík as the hometown of the fictional Icelandic Eurovision duo Fire Saga, played by Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams. The film was released on Netflix in June 2020, during the first COVID summer and Húsavík suddenly received enormous international exposure.
And one particular song became impossible to ignore: "Jaja Ding Dong."
In the film, Lars and Sigrit repeatedly perform it at their local bar, while the audience demands it over and over again. Especially Olaf Yohansson, a grumpy guy who will never have enough of "Jaja Ding Dong".
The original Jaja Ding Dong bar was very different from what exists today. It was essentially a new outdoor bar constructed next to the hotel, serving beer, cocktails and simple food such as cakes and pies. The structure still stands next to the current entrance.
The fictional bar in the movie is a place where locals want to drink, sing and hear "Jaja Ding Dong" over and over again. Then the movie came out and a real bar in the town portrayed in the movie was built around that joke. So come in and don't be afraid to yell those famous words:

Of course there is more on our menu than the special Eurovision cocktails. Our speciality is Kjötsúpa - the Traditional Icelandic Lamb soup. It is probably one of the best dishes to understand traditional Icelandic home cooking. The name literally means “meat soup” (kjöt = meat, súpa = soup).
The soup includes tender Icelandic lamb locally sourced from Norðlenska, potatoes and root vegetables simmered in a rich, comforting broth, served with bread and butter to get you nice, warm and full - ready to tackle the next Icelandic adventures.
We also offer a Smoked Arctic Salmon Bagel plus some snacks and naturally everyone's favourite: Hákarl. It is a traditional Icelandic food made from fermented Greenland shark. It is one of Iceland's most distinctive, and challenging traditional foods.
The shark's flesh is toxic when fresh because it contains high concentrations of urea and trimethylamine oxide. The shark is left to ferment for several weeks. The fermentation and drying process makes it safe to eat and gives it its characteristic flavour and smell.
We also offer a wide range of Icelandic beers. In fact, all the beers on our menu are Icelandic. From strong stouts and IPAs to nice lagers and sours. If beer is not your DOC, feel free to order cider, wine, whisky, more traditional cocktails and if you don't see your favourite on the menu, you can always ask. Should we have the necessary ingredients, we can certainly make the cocktail.
Wanna hear the best part? You can take your drink and enter the museums with it! If you want, sit down to watch the movie from a huge cinema screen and sip your preferred drink.
